|The Royal Family|

As we continue our Christmas festivities, we celebrate the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph:
Earlier this year, the world closely followed British royals William and Kate as they welcomed a new child into the world. This weekend, we celebrate the true royal family - the Holy Family - as we welcome Christ into our lives.
From the readings this weekend, I chose this one for a purpose: to find peace with how we are called, as well as our loved ones around us. Each one of us is called to a different path, a unique plan, but we must accomplish them together. The Holy Family is an excellent example of this. Let me explain how.
Christ accepted His Father's plan, humbled Himself, and was born in a manger. Mary believed what the angel told her and willingly accepted God's plan for her life. Joseph took Mary into his home - choosing to protect her and Jesus throughout his life.
Each member of the Holy Family had a pivotal role to play in the salvation of the world. Of course, Jesus' role takes center stage, but we can see how important Mary and Joseph were to the overall plan, as well. For each one of them to fulfill the Father's plan for their lives, they each had to do their part.
The same holds true for us. In our homes, our extended families, our parishes, our neighborhoods, and even our workplaces, we are surrounded by fellow children of God trying to fulfill God's plan for their lives. The only way any of us can accomplish it is by working together. If we follow the Holy Family's example, imagine what we could achieve!
The true royal family - the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph - teaches us how each one of us is called to a different purpose but that we can only achieve that purpose if we choose to work together. As you look at God's plan for your life, can you see how it fits into God's plan for all of us?
