A Message from the Lord
The verse today hits very close to home for me:
"I came to you in weakness and fear and much trembling, and my message and my proclamation were not with persuasive (words of) wisdom, but with a demonstration of spirit and power, so that your faith might rest not on human wisdom but on the power of God." -1 Corinthians 2:3-5, NAB
I know too well what Paul is saying here. He truly wants to share with the church at Corinth that what he shares is not of his own wisdom, but with the gift of the Holy Spirit. For anyone who spreads God's Word, it must be done through the Spirit, and not their own understanding. Each morning as I write on the latest Bible verse, I try to remember Paul's message here. Instead of leaning on my own understanding, I try to allow God to speak through me. As you go out into the world sharing God's message with your friends, family, and even the strangers you meet, allow yourself to be led by the Spirit. Do not try to share His message through your own words; let the Spirit guide you. What He can do through you is amazing, but it only works if you allow it to.
