Who Do You Belong To?

One of the greatest tragedies to come to the Church is when we divided centuries ago.  Instead of being one Church, we are now a number of different denominations.  Paul warned about this:

"Whenever someone says, "I belong to Paul," and another, "I belong to Apollos," are you not merely human? What is Apollos, after all, and what is Paul? Ministers through whom you became believers, just as the Lord assigned each one."  -1 Corinthians 3:4-5, NAB

We do not belong to the Catholic Church.  We don't belong to a Protestant church.  We belong to God.  In the end, we are all Christians.  Too often, we divide ourselves because of the different ways that we practice our faith.  In many ways, those differences can be quite substantial; however, we must overcome our differences and stand as one Church.  As the secular world continues to legislate their agenda, we must stand firmly in ours.  When the world rejects us because of our faith in Christ, we must lift each other up.  There are some great Christian speakers, writers, and evangelists in this world, but they are only human.  They are not worthy of our praise.  Coming to the altar, remember to have Jesus' name on your lips and no one else.
