A message for the leaders of our Church:
"According to the grace of God given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building upon it. But each one must be careful how he builds upon it, for no one can lay a foundation other than the one that is there, namely, Jesus Christ." -1 Corinthians 3:10-11, NAB
Paul is talking about the leaders of the Church. In his ministry, he laid a foundation of belief for many. Now, it is up to the leaders that follow him to continue building on that foundation. Even today's leaders are building on the foundation that Peter, Paul, and the early Church fathers originally built. From the Pope and the bishops to our local parish priests, they are charged with building upon that foundation. But, they are not the only ones who build the Church. Together, as a body of believers, we are helping to build the Church, and we must recognize our role in that. Through the things we say and the example we give, we are showing the world the beauty of the Church.
