Dead to the World...

Live your life as if you are dead to the world, but alive with Christ:

"We know that Christ, raised from the dead, dies no more; death no longer has power over him. As to his death, he died to sin once and for all; as to his life, he lives for God. Consequently, you too must think of yourselves as (being) dead to sin and living for God in Christ Jesus." -Romans 6:9-11 NAB

Do you live for God?  Honestly?  Can you look at yourself in the mirror and answer that question faithfully?  More importantly, when you come face to face with God at the Judgment, will you be able to stand there unafraid, knowing you served God faithfully?  These are very tough questions for anyone to answer.

Paul did not say that you should live a normal life and serve God when you can.  He did not say that you must go to church on Sunday, but then try to do your best the rest of the week.  Instead, he said that you need to live for God.  Period.

  • Will you struggle?  ...Yes.
  • Will there be times that you want to take the easy road?  ...Yes.
  • Will your faith waiver at times?  ...Yes.
  • Does that mean you give up?  ...No.

The world will always try to pull  you down to its level, but we must live as if we are dead to the world.  Leave the sin and ways of your past behind and turn your life over to God.  God desperately wants to have a very personal relationship with you, but He cannot until you turn away from the world and turn to the Son.

If you question everything I write, or if you don't want to listen to anything I say, please, just hold onto this one, simple truth - God loves you very much, and He wants nothing more than for you to come back to Him.
