Was Jesus Crazy?...

Jesus' family thought that He was losing His mind:

He came home. Again (the) crowd gathered, making it impossible for them even to eat. When his relatives heard of this they set out to seize him, for they said, "He is out of his mind."  -Mark 3:20-21, NAB

In probably one of the least-quoted Scriptures from the New Testament, we find out that Jesus' family thought that He was losing His mind.  Somehow, I doubt that you will find Mark 3:20-21 used in artwork.  You won't see a beautiful painting hanging in someone's home with this verse inscribed at the bottom.

This verse may not be very popular, but it tells us a very important message.  Even among His own family, Christ's message was not fully being accepted.  Of course, we know that His mother supported Him, as well as some other family members, but it seems that a few just were not on board with it.

When you go through the conversion process, it will not always be well received.  Some family members will love you and support your decision.  Others may be indifferent.  But, there will be those who will oppose you, who will think that you are losing your mind a bit, but that's okay.

In the end, it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about your faith - it only matters what you think.  The whole world can oppose your decision to be Catholic, but who cares?  Your relationship with Christ is between you and Him, and no one else.

Are you crazy in love with Jesus?  Does your family think that you've lost your mind?  Well, if they do, you're in good company because Jesus' family thought that He was crazy too.
