Healed by Faith...

We must never be afraid to approach the Lord with our requests in total faith:

There was a woman afflicted with hemorrhages for twelve years. She had suffered greatly at the hands of many doctors and had spent all that she had. Yet she was not helped but only grew worse. She had heard about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak. She said, "If I but touch his clothes, I shall be cured." Immediately her flow of blood dried up. She felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.

Jesus, aware at once that power had gone out from him, turned around in the crowd and asked, "Who has touched my clothes?"

But his disciples said to him, "You see how the crowd is pressing upon you, and yet you ask, 'Who touched me?'" And he looked around to see who had done it.

The woman, realizing what had happened to her, approached in fear and trembling. She fell down before Jesus and told him the whole truth. He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be cured of your affliction."  -Mark 5:26-34, NAB

Jesus was swarmed with people around Him, yet He felt the healing power leaving His body.  Just touching His clothes healed this woman.  But, was it the magical powers of the cloth Jesus' clothes were made out of?  No, it was the faith of the woman that healed her - faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Online Bible Verses

At first, the woman is afraid.  Jesus is asking who touched Him, and He seems upset.  The disciples are indifferent because of the crowd, but the woman came forward.  She knew that Christ could heal her, but she also knew that He had the power to punish her as well.  Falling to her knees in fear and offering up the truth, Christ blessed her for her faith.

We may feel selfish when we turn to God with prayers for our own well being.  Some only pray for others, or the good of the Church, but it's okay to bring selfish prayers to God, as well.  It's perfectly acceptable to ask Christ for healing, blessings, or strength.  In fact, He wants us to come to Him, no matter what it may be for.

This woman's faith brought God's healing power into her life.  All she needed to do was ask.  The same is true for us.  Whatever may be going on in our lives, no matter what we may be facing, if we have faith, God can bring healing to our lives.  Don't be afraid.  Bring your requests faithfully to Christ and just watch what happens!
