Healed by Christ...

Regardless of our past, it is never too late to receive the healing of Christ:

Now there is in Jerusalem at the Sheep (Gate) a pool called in Hebrew Bethesda, with five porticoes. In these lay a large number of ill, blind, lame, and crippled. One man was there who had been ill for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had been ill for a long time, he said to him, "Do you want to be well?"

The sick man answered him, "Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; while I am on my way, someone else gets down there before me."

Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your mat, and walk." Immediately the man became well, took up his mat, and walked. -John 5:2-9, NAB

Jesus brought healing to this man in a physical way, curing him of his illness, but He can also bring healing into our lives to help us overcome our sinful past.  The sick man in this verse had been ill for thirty-eight years, and Jesus still healed Him.  In the same way, regardless of how long our sins have weighed us down, we can still find healing.

Online Bible Verses

Too often, I have heard people who think that God could not possibly forgive them.  They feel that their sinful past is too much for God to overcome.  But does God place limits on how much He is willing to forgive us?  More importantly, do we feel that God does not have the power to overcome certain sins?

Those who feel that their sins are outside of God's abilities do not have a full understanding of the depth of God's healing grace.  On the cross, Christ brought forgiveness for all of our sins, not just some.  The only limitation on that forgiveness is that we must seek it out.  The limit on God's grace, then, is not God's ability to give it but our ability to accept it.

God does not only have the power to forgive us, but also the willingness.  Why would He be willing to forgive our ugliest of sins?  Because He loves us more than we will ever comprehend.  He wants us to be reconciled to Him; nothing gives Him greater joy.  He has loved us since before we were born and continues to love us today - no amount of sin will change that.

Do you feel that you are unforgiveable?  Do the sins of your past weigh you down?  Friend, give your sins over to Christ - whatever they may be.  God loves you, regardless of how long you have been away or the depth of your sins.  He has the power and the willingness to heal even the greatest of sinners, including you.  Give your life over to Christ; you will be amazed at what He can do.
