Mark 16:15...

After His resurrection, Jesus had these words for His disciples:

[Jesus] said to them, "Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature." -Mark 16:15, NAB

Why did I bring up this verse a few weeks before Easter?  Because I need your help.  Waking Up Catholic - the book - is almost completed.  Over 90% of the chapters are written, and the book will be ready to be edited soon.

My wife and I are launching a new company, Assisi Media, to publish the book.  After working in the Catholic publishing industry for the past couple of years, I feel well-equipped to launch this venture, and with her organizational and management skills, I am confident that we can faithfully share God's word.

Why Assisi Media?  We chose that name after St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi (imagine our surprise and delight when Pope Francis chose that name, as well!).  Primarily, we were inspired by St. Francis's mission to rebuild the Church, and we feel that same call on our ministry: to help rebuild the Church, starting with new Catholics.

Like the website, the goal of the book will be to teach the basics about the Catholic faith.  We spend a great deal of time talking about evangelization, but what's next?  Are we providing the tools and resources Catholics need when they first enter the Church?  Our goal is to help Catholic converts find the resources they need to learn more about the faith.

What can you do to help?

Well, we are trying to raise funds to help cover some of the costs of publishing.  In return, you can get autographed copies of the book, your name printed in the book's acknowledgements, and the chance to host the book launch at your parish or bookstore.

We are running the campaign for 40 days (for obvious reasons), and it will begin today, St. Patrick's Day, and last until the feast of St. Mark, April 25th.  St. Patrick was known for using 3-leaf clovers to explain the Trinity - making a complex topic easier to understand.  St. Mark, obviously, was one of the greatest writers and evangelists of all time.

If you're interested in finding out more, please go to AssisiMedia.com.  We appreciate any level of support that you can offer - including prayers!  Please pray for us as we try to follow where God is leading us.

As today's Bible verse tells us, God calls each one of us to use our gifts to share the Gospel.  We are simply doing our best to follow that call.

Thank you and God bless!

-Chad
