All Prayer and Supplication...

St. Paul challenges us to not let an opportunity to pray pass us by:

With all prayer and supplication, pray at every opportunity in the Spirit. To that end, be watchful with all perseverance and supplication for all the holy ones... -Ephesians 6:18, NAB

Supplication, as defined by Merriam-Webster, is "to ask for earnestly and humbly."  With the right frame of mind, we are called to ask God for His help - for us, and for the holy ones (the communion of saints, our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ).

At times, we may feel a little selfish by constantly asking God for things in prayer, but we should ask God for His help.  God loves when we stop trying to rely on ourselves and put our faith in Him instead.

Prayer must be a constant and consistent part of our lives.  If our only prayers come on Sundays, we are missing the opportunity to ask for God's assistance the rest of the week.  God can hear you wherever you are - the car, your home, and even in the workplace; you do not have to be at church for Him to hear you.

The only prayers that are never answered are the prayers never said.  We may not always get the answer we want, but He will answer you.  God is waiting for you to come to Him.  He wants to hear your requests, regardless of how small or insignificant they may seem.

Are you in need of something?  Do you need God's help?  Then ask.  God would love to hear from you, and He would love to answer your prayer.
