God Recognizes Your Effort...

Even if no one else seems to notice, God recognizes your effort:

But we are sure in your regard, beloved, of better things related to salvation, even though we speak in this way. For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love you have demonstrated for his name by having served and continuing to serve the holy ones.  -Hebrews 6:9-10, NAB

Have you ever felt unappreciated?  Have you ever put your heart and soul into something, but no one seemed to notice?  The world may not recognize your effort, but God does.

The author of Hebrews has spent the last few verses challenging our faith and warning us against complacency, but here, in today's verse, he takes a moment to reassure us.  He lets us know, despite his other warnings, that God does see the good we are doing, as well.

We may fall into the trap of thinking that God only sees our mistakes.  If we didn't sin, He would barely know us at all.  But nothing could be further from the truth.  God sees the impact we're having - even in the smallest of ways.  Your good deeds are not going unnoticed.

Why do we think that God doesn't notice?  Because the outside world often fails to notice our efforts.  Sometimes, even those closest to us fail to see what we've done.  Then, we project that same failure on God - assuming that He is failing us in the same way.

Thankfully, God does not fail us.  He loves and appreciates every act of kindness that you show to others.  He is grateful for the work you do for the Church.  He quietly celebrates with you at your milestones, even when no one else seems to care.

God recognizes your effort.  He sees your every act of kindness and the smallest gestures of love.  One day, we will be held accountable for our sins, but do not worry, God will remember our every good deed, as well.
